Possible Iroquois-class destroyer Replacement

The Single Class Surface Combatant Project, or Canadian Surface Combatant project, is the name given by naval observers for the Royal Canadian Navy procurement project that will replace the Iroquois class and Halifax class warships with up to 15 new ships in beginning in about the mid-2020s as part of the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy

Canada originally had built four destroyer ships; Iroquois, Huron, Athabaskan, and Algonquin.
-HMCS Huron was left without a crew and was later sunk by Algonquin in a live-fire exercise
-HMCS Algonguin has damaged in a collision with another ship and was later retired
-HMCS Iroquois was discovered to have severe cracks in the hull and was determined to have
a compromised hull and was later retired
- HMCS Athabaskan is the only one left in service.
